I don’t know about you, but I’ve rarely found good hummus in Japan. Or fluffy, handmade falafel. Well, there’s an event where you can get both in one place…or a fattoush salad, if that’s more your thing.

Everything on the menu is vegetarian, so when your plant-eating guests from abroad are complaining that they’ve had nothing but plain conbini rice balls for a week straight, you can safely bring them here.

So let’s take a look at what’s on offer!

The top choice, and my recommendation, is the wrap. It has everything you see on that tray up there, plus the stars of the show: the falafel. Don’t worry if there’s something you don’t like, though. The chef can accommodate you if you’re not a fan of spicy jalapeños!

If you want something a bit lighter, there’s the “Falafel Tsumami.” It comes with a side of hummus, too. This one is ¥700.

Even better, if you can’t decide, why not get some to take home? Everything can be ordered to go.
When it comes to possible downsides, I’m pretty sure the only people you should leave behind are the “It’s not a meal without meat!” crowd. If that’s you, I’ll happily take that extra hummus and falafel off your hands, thanks! Mwah.
Speaking of people, that’s something I haven’t mentioned yet. Not only is the chef a friendly guy, but you’ll also bump into so many interesting faces from all over. It’s a great crowd and a good atmosphere. Sometimes you even get free jazz musicians and an impromptu beatboxer. Only in Nagoya, eh?
So how do you find it? Since the location changes every month, the best way to check is to go to @Falafelnagoya. As of right now, the next one will be held on the 24th of October at Second Home Cafe and Bar.
