Don Quijote light beer
Donkey Hotel’s Light Beer. Yum!
I’ve made some right messes in my time, but buying own-brand lager from a Donkey Hotel is a new low, even for me.
Oh wait. Maybe not.
It was okay.

The Gist
Strength: 4%
Back in the 90s, this would’ve had you fighting a lamppost. Now, it’s basically spicy water.
Source: Brewed in Vietnam. Nothing says “local Japanese delicacy” like a crate that’s had more stamps on its passport than I have.
Taste: It’s about 70% Asahi Super Dry. The other 30% is just fizzy silence and the extra taste of a spicy budget holiday…
At yer mam’s!

The Damage
It’s got more carbonation than a pressure washer, which is great for masking the fact that you’re drinking something sold next to 10-foot stuffed penguins.
It’s better than those older conbini low-alc (or zero %) beers that tasted like wet cardboard and regret.
Probably.
“It’s not Asahi, it’s a Donkey. Brewed in the tropics. Hooray?”
Rating
3/5 – It hasn’t killed me yet, so we’re winning…
Would do again, but I’d be staring at her slightly more attractive sister.
